Haaruitval: heb ik een vitaminetekort?
Het is volkomen normaal om 50 tot 100 haren per dag te verliezen. Meer haarverlies kan zorgwekkend zijn, vooral als je haar ook zichtbare klachten vertoont, zoals glansverlies, futloosheid, verlies van dikte of volume, enz. Het kan in dat geval interessant zijn om eens te kijken naar de inhoud van je bord en je haarverzorgingsgewoonten (föhnen, sporten, wassen, enz.). Wie zijn haar geweld aandoet of een tekort heeft aan bepaalde vitamines en voedingsstoffen, zal immers moeilijk haaruitval kunnen voorkomen. Maar waarom zijn voedingsstoffen en vitamines zo belangrijk?
Geen evenwicht, geen groei!
Dagelijkse voeding is inderdaad essentieel om mooi, lang en gezond haar te hebben. Waarom? De reden hiervoor is dat het lichaam geen keratine (een eiwit), het hoofdbestanddeel van haar, kan aanmaken zonder dat ook andere specifieke voedingsstoffen aanwezig zijn, zoals bepaalde vitamines van de B-groep (5, 6, 8 en 9), ijzer en zink. Zink is een sporenelement dat bijdraagt tot de structuur van alle eiwitten, waardoor het onmisbaar is voor de goede werking van het lichaam. Zink is bijzonder weldadig voor de huid en het haar. Een optimale inname van dit element is erg belangrijk, hetzij via de voeding (eieren, kaas, vis, vlees en gevogelte), hetzij via supplementen die de productie van keratine en de haargroei bevorderen.
Maar dat is niet alles. Om het haar glans, veerkracht en volume te geven, heb je ook andere vitamines nodig, zoals vitamine A (ondersteunt de haargroeicyclus), vitamine C (ondersteunt de ijzeropname) en vitamine E (beschermt de cellen tegen oxidatieve stress dankzij zijn anti-oxiderende werking).
Welke voedingsmiddelen moet dan ik kiezen?
Je kan best de volgende voedingsmiddelen consumeren:
vers seizoensfruit en -groenten (bronnen van vitamines)
vlees en peulvruchten (bronnen van eiwitten en ijzer)
knoflook, ui, prei (rijk aan zwavelproducten die essentieel zijn voor de aanmaak van eiwitten)
noten, amandelen (rijk aan vitamine E),
schaaldieren, kip (rijk aan zink)
en ook alle voedsel rijk aan:
Kortom, een gevarieerde, seizoensgebonden voeding in de juiste hoeveelheid is de beste manier om gezond haar te hebben! Als je de teugels ietwat laat vieren in de keuken, of bij aanzienlijke haaruitval, kan je net zo goed snel en goed handelen door een kuur te volgen met aangepaste vitamine- en mineralensupplementen om je haren weer pep te geven.
