Zijn supplementen voor vrouwen zinvol?
Klopt het dat vrouwen supplementen nodig hebben om hun lichaam te verzorgen en in vorm te blijven in alle fasen van hun leven? Vrouwen worden van nature blootgesteld aan heel wat veranderingen. Ze moeten daarom voortdurend de nodige stoffen uit hun voeding halen om hun energie op peil te houden, hun immuunsysteem te ondersteunen, hun groei en die van hun baby('s) te garanderen en zich te beschermen tegen oxidatieve stress en de effecten van de tijd. Het goede nieuws is dat supplementen een flinke oppepper kunnen geven.
Erg specifieke behoeften
Een vrouw maakt in haar leven grote veranderingen door: puberteit, zwangerschap, perimenopauze, menopauze. Vrouwen moeten dus permanent luisteren naar de behoeften van hun lichaam, om de gezondheid van hun beenderen te garanderen en om te gaan met menstruatiegrillen, hormonale schommelingen (zwangerschap, postpartum, menopauze), de toename van cardiovasculaire risico's in de postmenopauze, huidveroudering, enz. Kortom, vrouwen moeten zich aan elke situatie kunnen aanpassen om hun lichaam te behoeden voor gezondheidsproblemen en om een optimale balans te bereiken. En dat is verre van gemakkelijk. Volstaan voeding en een goede levensstijl om die balans te behouden?
Vrouwen mogen op hun beide oren slapen, want gelukkig bestaan er specifieke supplementen, die hun gezondheid een duwtje in de rug kunnen geven!
Erg specifieke supplementen
Vrouwen moeten in hun supplementen bepaalde specifieke stoffen kunnen vinden die aangepast zijn aan hun leeftijd en fysiologische behoeften. Welke?
Tijdens de puberteit => voorrang aan vitamine D, calcium en soms ijzer (hevige menstruatie)
Vóór de zwangerschap => voorrang aan vitamine B9 (foliumzuur)
Tijdens de zwangerschap en borstvoeding => vooral vitamine B9, ijzer en essentiële vetzuren, maar ook andere vitamines (B, D, C, K) en mineralen (jodium, calcium, magnesium, zink).
Na de zwangerschap => in de eerste plaats vitamine D en essentiële vetzuren, maar ook vitamines van de B-groep (B5, B6, B8) C en zink om weer een mooie haardos te krijgen.
Tijdens de perimenopauze => voorrang aan vitamine D, calcium en soms ijzer (hevige en onregelmatige menstruatie)
In de menopauze= > vooral vitamine D, calcium en vitamine B12 (minder goed opneembaar naarmate men ouder wordt), maar ook vitamine C (collageenproductie), E (antioxidant), K (botten) en magnesium (emotioneel evenwicht) en essentiële vetzuren (DHA voor de huid).
